JULIA BARNETT 

(Writer, Director) 

Julia is a writer/director who has seamlessly made the transition from acting in front of the camera to behind it. She made her directorial debut with Chasing Grace in 2017 at the SXSW TV & Film Festival.

Julia co-founded Rolling Reels Productions alongside Mindy Raymond, with a focus on genre storytelling that amplifies marginalized voices. In 2023, she wrote and directed two features: A Christmas in New Hope, starring Katrina Bowden, Adrianne Palicki, and Malcolm Goodwin, and Texas Cult House, starring Adrianne Palicki, which premiered on the opening night of the Austin Film Festival in 2024.

Her next project, titled 1989, was awarded  “Second Rounder” at the Austin Film Festival in 2024 and is currently in pre-production in partnership with The Coven sales agency.

MINDY RAYMOND

(Producer) 

Mindy is a multi-talented professional in the entertainment industry with a diverse range of roles. She is also co-founder of Rolling Reels Productions, alongside Julia, which creates genre films that highlight stories of marginalized communities. A Christmas in New Hope, released in 2024, was "Most Popular" on Tubi. Texas Cult House will be streaming Fall 2025. Rolling Reels has multiple projects in development and pre-production. 

Mindy is co-founder of The Shine Company, a consultancy in the media production industry, and serves as Chair of the Advisory Board for the Women in Film & Television Austin Chapter. Her unique talent and ability to connect people make her a valuable asset in Texas filmmaking and beyond.
